The Department of Justice and Community Safety (Youth Justice) is responsible for the statutory supervision of young people in the criminal justice system in Victoria focusing on prevention, diversion, and early intervention as the most effective and fiscally responsible ways of reducing youth crime. About the role:
The Case Officer plays an important role by supporting young people on statutory orders to attend community service, build new skills and develop prosocial relationships that enhance community connections and employment opportunities. It also includes responding to mental health and family violence risk factors by conducting screens and assessments and promoting compliance with the order.
Key responsibilities include:
This role involves providing transport for young people to attend and participate in community service. As such a full driver's licence and employee Working with Children Check (WWCC) are mandatory for this role.
This process will be recruiting to roles in Loddon Mallee, Grampians, Barwon South West, West Metro, North Metro, South Metro, East Metro, Gippsland and Hume regions.
The successful applicant will be expected to undertake travel within their appointed region as required.
