Western Plains Correctional Centre is a modern, maximum-security prison focussed on rehabilitation, housing up to 1248 people in custody. About the Role:
This role is part of the Workforce and Prison Services (WPS) team, a team dedicated to delivering essential corporate and ancillary services support to prison operational teams and prisoners. Leveraging the technical ability and professional expertise of trained subject matter experts, the team supports the smooth functioning of prison operations while prioritising prisoner rehabilitation and safety.
Reporting to the Team Leader, Workforce Engagement, you will be a key contributor to delivering & supporting the operational requirements of a new correctional facility.
As a Workforce Engagement Support Officer, you will respond directly to general staff enquiries in an efficient, effective and customer focused manner to deliver timely, accurate and reliable support to managers and employees. This role will also be responsible for triaging queries to specialist staff support areas within the Prison and Workforce Services team and provide administrative support to the Workforce Services Team.
This is a hands-on role that will require you to apply your strong organisational skills with an ability to prioritise and manage workloads; work productively under minimal supervision; and provide exceptional customer service to employees.
You will be required to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and public holidays and attend to urgent work as required. Appropriate remuneration will be applied for the above in accordance with the Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement 2024. Given the nature of the position, being a customer-facing role within the facility, you will be required to work on-site, with reduced working from home capacity.
