Workforce Coordinator - Early Learning Victoria Regional North
Salary band - $97,955 - $111,142
The Workforce Coordinator will service the Regional North centres, including the newly opened Eaglehawk location in 2025, as well as three new centres in Numurkah, Shepparton & Wedderburn opening in 2026. The incumbent will primarily service the north region, however there may also be a requirement to travel to Melbourne CBD.
The Workforce Coordinator works with Early Learning Victoria centres to support workforce development and retention initiatives, including implementing training programs, identifying skill gaps and creating pathways for career advancement. The role assists centre directors with people management strategies to create a highly collaborative and quality-based workforce culture, built on a foundation of continuous feedback and improvement. In addition, this role provides administrative support in matters relating to misconduct and performance management, including taking meeting notes, assisting with plan development and maintaining accurate and confidential records.
The Workforce Coordinator works under the direction of the Area Manager, and with close engagement with the Workforce Policies and Programs team. The role supports the Area Manager with workforce attraction through building relationships with local secondary schools, VET Providers, and Universities building a local workforce pipeline. They support events to promote working with ELV and gain knowledge on the local sector workforce environment.
High Quality Practice - Provides specialist HR and IR expertise to support high performing and continuous learning workplace environments that fosters attraction, growth and development of staff.
Supports the Area Manager with data driven decisions based on workforce data insights and inform strategic workforce planning.
Prioritises face to face interactions with area and centre based teams, requiring travel to and between ELV centres, as well as central office based in Melbourne's CBD.
Meaningful Outcomes - Supports workforce goals that link to broader team and organisational objectives. Considers future aims and goals of the centres and ELV in prioritising own and others' work.
Enables a workforce culture underpinned by high performance and addressing under performance. Supports centre-based and central-based aspects of the recruitment process to be as timely and streamlined as possible, minimising vacancy rates.
Service Delivery - Provides strategic HR development support to centres for attraction and retention of staff. Develops a pipeline of talent through engagement and promotion of ELV workforce strategy. Builds capability and culture and recommends appropriate tools and resource to problem solving. Informs workforce planning with workforce data insights and local environmental knowledge. Resolves challenging and complex local HR matters with area and centre-based leaders.
Communication - Conveys specialist knowledge of HR policies and practice into practical understanding by staff. Provides guidance on feedback and communication strategies on people management situations. Supports leadership team with retention strategies and continuous improvement of performance quality, including fostering constructive discussions to address challenges and skill gaps. Develop a local network of key workforce partner stakeholders, including schools, universities and education sector providers, to create best opportunities to promote working with ELV.
