The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking an Workforce Development Supervisor to provide a critical role within the Metropolitan Region (NWMA)
About the Business Unit
Corrections Victoria is responsible for the implementation of policies, programs and services that ensure the safe and secure containment of prisoners, and that seek to rehabilitate offenders by addressing the underlying causes of offending behaviour.
Corrections Victoria also sets strategy, policy and standards for the management of the state's system of prisons whilst also developing programs for the management and rehabilitation of prisoners and the community-based supervision of offenders.
The Metropolitan Region consists of two (2) prisons, they are Melbourne Assessment Prison (MAP) and the Metropolitan Remand Centre (MRC).
About the Role
The Workforce Development Supervisor is responsible for providing professional and efficient services that support the regions key workforce development function, strategic goals and directions. The position provides leadership for the learning, development, and training function for the metropolitan region, enabling opportunities for staff to participate in appropriate and relevant development training and working on capability development plans. The role will also work closely with the executive team of all three prisons and stakeholders to build operational capability.
Compliance with the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) standards, coordination of trainers and assessors, and alignment with the Department of Justice and Community Services (DJCS) People and Workplace Services Learning and Development unit will ensure success in this role
This position requires direct prisoner contact and may involve weekend and public holiday work, remunerated in accordance with the applicable provision of the VPS Determination.
