The primary purpose of the Worker Liaison Coordinator is to provide administration support to WorkCover Assist (and the Principal Workers Consultant) by proactively engaging with workers’ and other stakeholders to ensure disputes are managed through the conciliation process with a high level of service.

The primary purpose of the Worker Liaison Coordinator is to provide administration support to WorkCover Assist (and the Principal Workers Consultant) by proactively engaging with workers' and other stakeholders to ensure disputes are managed through the conciliation process with a high level of service.
Key accountabilities
- Coordinate and provide high level, confidential, administrative support to a team of consultants, managing their work-flow and conciliation diaries, to ensure appropriate caseloads are allocated and maintained.
- Build relationships and liaise with external key stakeholders, such as solicitors, medical service providers, insurance agent representatives and Conciliation Officers to obtain or provide further information.
- Coordinate and manage the Early Resolution Project with the ACCS by engaging proactively with injured workers, plaintiff lawyers and claims agents to ensure that entitlements and services are delivered in a timely and effective matter with a significant reduction in stress for injured workers
- Initiate contact with injured workers once they have requested WorkCover Assist's services to ensure the worker has a full understanding of the conciliation processes whilst proactively assisting them to obtain the relevant material to support their claim.
- Coordinate, analyse and provide complex reports regarding consultant resource utilisation for Conciliation to reduce the timeframe between lodgement to hearing date for injured workers.
- Undertake procurement and manage office purchase requisitions, suppliers and expenses.
- Manage data for new referrals and uploading data onto WSDOM, creating electronic files for consultants and closing off files in accordance with approved policies and procedures
About you
You are a workers compensation administration professional who takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service to your stakeholders. Highly organised with strong attention to detail, you work collaboratively within a team while also operating confidently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
Additionally, you possess the following skills and experience:
- Deliver administrative and communications support within the team, including reviewing incoming team mail and other correspondence, identifying information and gaps and determining the appropriate action within the required timeframes.
- Attending to telephone inquiries with an emphasis on taking the call live, including checking and responding promptly to voicemail on a regular basis and actioning correspondence in a timely manner.
- Coordinate Conciliation conferences along with generating appropriate documentation for the consultants
- Initial file review (triage) of all new applications.
- Knowledge of the Accident Compensation Act 1985, and workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013, as it relates to Conciliation activities, claims management process, medical terminology and dispute resolution mechanisms.
- Established understanding and commitment to discretion and integrity; evidently trustworthy when in knowledge and possession of confidential and sensitive information and data. A proven record of ethical behaviour and a demonstrated commitment to the VPSC Code of Conduct and Values.
