About the Leisure and Creative Therapies Department
The Leisure and Creative Therapies Department is based at the Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre (RTRC) and supports rehabilitation clients across inpatient and outpatient settings.
The service is focused on helping people rediscover meaning and purpose, connect with their community, and improve therapeutic outcomes through person-centred, innovative and inclusive programs. The Woodwork Studio Assistant role forms part of the Talbot Maker Space, a creative and social environment supporting artists and craftspeople with disability.
About the role
Are you passionate about creativity, inclusion and making a real difference in people’s lives? Austin Health is seeking a Woodwork Studio Assistant to join our innovative Talbot Maker Space at the Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre. This unique role offers the opportunity to support artists and craftspeople with disability to explore woodworking and creative practice in a welcoming, inclusive studio environment that fosters connection, confidence and purpose.
As a Woodwork Studio Assistant, you will support participants with disability to design and create woodworking and craft projects within the Talbot Maker Space. Working closely with the Program Coordinator, you will assist with delivering a range of programs including beginner workshops, supported studio sessions, and participant-driven creative projects.
This is a casual position and is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on creative work and making a meaningful contribution to inclusive community programs.
