The Wellbeing Team Manager, working with the School Leadership Team, has overall responsibility for developing and promoting a whole school approach to mental health and wellbeing for students, staff and families at Reservoir High School. They will lead the Wellbeing Team in developing and implementing approaches, programs, resources and strategies to provide holistic support to our students focused on wellbeing, inclusion and engagement.
Role
The Wellbeing Team Manager oversees the wellbeing systems, processes, and interventions that support students¿ social, emotional, and mental health needs.
Conduct needs assessments and provide appropriate interventions. Manage complex cases and collaborate with mental health practitioners.
Oversee referral systems and work with multidisciplinary wellbeing teams. Coordinate referrals to external agencies.
Engage with parents/carers and promote access to community services and assistance.
Support wellbeing-focused events and promote safe, positive school environments.
Develop early-intervention wellbeing programs and promote resilience and emotional regulation.
Collect and report wellbeing data, maintain records, and ensure compliance with reporting laws.
Standard DET ES Level 1 Range 4 Role Description
An education support class role at this level is accountable for the development and delivery of professional student support services and/or clinical management of students and other support functions.
Supervision of students can be required where it is an integral part of the employee's position or in circumstances where supervision is required individually or in groups up to 4 in controlled circumstances and where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.
A role at this range may include:
- Provision of key support and advice to the leadership team and school council and/or liaison with the general school community, the Department, and other government agencies and service providers.
- Professional student support positions where duties and responsibilities, relative to their professional discipline, are carried out with a higher level of autonomy and with minimal reliance on professional supervision. These positions provide health advice and clinical resources to the school community. Typical professional support positions operating at this level would be registered nurses (performing the role of Registered Nurse range 4 as described in Schedule 3), speech pathologists, psychologists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and social workers.
- Responsibility for the development and implementation of professional support programs within an educational environment, including guidance to other professional staff.
The duties for this position are as follows:
Program Development & PreventionActively participate in professional learning opportunities externally and within the school.

Qualifications and/or experience in Student Support Services, psychology or other relevant allied health backgrounds; experience with adolescents in the education setting.
Strong understanding of adolescent mental health; counselling skills; communication and teamwork abilities; capacity to lead initiatives
Expert knowledge of and implementation of School Policies.
Advanced Planning and Organisational skills.
Experience in leading, developing, and working in teams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

We also have a Doctor-in-School, which provides a full medical service to our students and families. Student leadership, voice and agency is highly valued and students have the opportunity to hold a range of formal leadership positions including School Captains and undertake membership on both the School Council and the Student Representative Council.
