An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably qualified and experienced Wellbeing Officer to join our Hospital Outreach Post- Suicidal Engagement (HOPE) program, within our Mental Health Directorate.
About the role
The role will provide recovery oriented, and trauma informed psychosocial support to consumers, family and carers across the South West Mental Health catchment inclusive of Warrnambool, Portland, Hamilton, Camperdown and surrounding regions. They will work in collaboration with the clinical team are responsible for promoting client wellbeing by supporting connectedness with relevant services and the community.
Position Overview
A proportion of the work of the HOPE Program will occur outside of usual business hours, including weekends. Shifts will be rostered at least 1 month in advance.
What you bring
You will bring relevant experience from similar roles with the appropriate qualifications and have recent experience working under professional and clinical supervision with individuals in crisis and with mental health issues.
You will have shown commitment to care of consumers and their families in the least restrictive and intrusive manner, respecting rights, privacy and dignity. You will understand recovery-oriented practices and trauma informed care in relation to the role. You will be excellent communication, be those verbal and written, great interpersonal skills and initiative with proven ability to work both autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team.
