About Ward 8 West
Ward 8 West is a 32 bed general surgery, liver transplant, intestinal transplant and gastroenterology ward. Our general surgical unit provides expertise in hepatopancreatobiliary surgery. This patient population comes from approximately 75% Emergency surgery and the critical care area’s which creates an acute and dynamic working environment. The gastroenterology unit cares for those with advanced and complex liver disease, as well as those with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. TPN and fistula management is also a key part of care provided on 8 West.
Wards 8 North, 8 East & provide care for acute and elective patients specialising in Orthopaedic and Plastics Reconstructive surgeries, Colorectal, Hepatobiliary and Upper Gastrointestinal surgeries. This position also provides clerical support equally across all three surgical wards.
About the role
As the Ward Clerk, you will assist the department in the daily clerical and administrative operations, and work collaboratively to achieve an efficient and effective quality customer service.
A regular day will see you:
In this role you will work the following hours:
Monday 0700hrs-1530hrs (8th floor float)
Wednesday 0700hrs-1530hrs (8 West)
Saturday and Sunday 0800hrs-1230hrs (8th floor float)

As the Ward Clerk, You will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. You’ll bring energy and drive to your work, and have a keen interest in developing your skillset.
