About the division:
The Victorian Student Register (VSR) maintains Victorian Student Number (VSN) for all students undertaking education and training in Victoria.
The VSR data is used in a wide variety of programs and initiatives to support students, schools and training organisations across the state.
The VSR Unit is responsible for maintaining the VSR and disclosing VSR data in accordance with the VCAA's legislative obligations and responsibilities. The VSR Unit sits within the ICT Branch.
About the role:
The purpose of this role is to monitor, analyse, and improve VSR data quality and integrity. This includes identifying trends, patterns and issues in inbound data, as well as making recommendations for improvement.
This is a lead role within the team and involves coordinating the work of team members regarding data exceptions.
The successful applicant will be expected to contribute their expertise to relevant work and initiatives across the broader ICT branch as required.
About you:
Experience and qualifications:
Essential: Strong capability in SQL and data analysis.
Desirable: Tertiary qualification or equivalent in analytics, data science, information technology or similar. Experience in PowerBI or other data visualisation tools.
