About the Role
The primary responsibility of this role is to lead and lead a team of Visiting Teachers who provide support to students in areas such as physical/health impairment, vision impairment, hearing impairment, autism spectrum disorder and complex behaviours. and to assist their classroom teachers, school and school community with high level advice and information. A key part of the role is to ensure the skills of the Visiting Teachers are used in the most effective way to address regional priorities and areas of greatest need. This includes the way in which the Visiting Teacher service supports the work of Area Teams. The role is responsible for leading and managing service delivery in an innovative manner across diverse geographic areas. The position is required to promote and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including the Health, Wellbeing and Inclusion Workforce, school principals and agencies such as the Victorian Deaf Education Institute.
