What You'll Do
The Visitor Experience Officer is responsible for providing proactive, responsive, high-quality customer service standards for new and existing visitors to Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria.
This role ensures visitors receive clear and welcoming information upon arrival at the Visitor Centre or while in the Gardens, and depart having had a positive and safe experience.
In addition to supporting program bookings and completing point-of-sale transactions, the role also provides a level of protection for site assets through the enforcement of key RBGV regulations.
Availability to work weekends is required.
What You'll Bring
As the ideal candidate, you'll have a qualification in tourism, hospitality or a related field, or relevant experience delivering great customer service in busy environments. You're confident engaging with visitors and handling bookings, ticket sales, invoicing, cash and point-of-sale systems. You're able to use good judgement to manage customer issues or emergencies in line with legal and safety requirements.
You work well in a team, bring a positive and flexible attitude, and consistently meet customer service standards. With strong communication and problem-solving skills, you can assist a diverse range of visitors efficiently and professionally. You have solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office and databases, can work independently when needed, and take initiative. Knowledge of plants, sustainability, conservation, humanities or culture is highly regarded.
