What You'll Do
Lightscape, presented by Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria and Sony Music Entertainment Australia, is an award-winning immersive light experience that transforms Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne at night with a spectacular collection of installations by international and Australian artists.
To support this incredibly popular event, RBGV are seeking three Visitor Experience Officers (Lightscape Closure Assistant) which will be primarily for contributing to the early closure of the Melbourne Gardens site in order to allow for Lightscape bump-in. Activities involved in the closure include roaming activities (i.e. directing visitors to exit points) and regular radio communication with the closure team, at times taking on the coordination of the closing procedures. You will provide clear communication and information to visitors, in addition to constructive resolution of enquiries and feedback, which extends to fielding phone enquiries. The role requires a customer-friendly approach to raise visitor awareness of the regulations designed to ensure safety for the general public and protection of the Gardens in line with RBGV regulations and standards.
What You'll Bring
The successful applicant will hold a qualification in relevant tourism, hospitality, or related team front-line position and/or demonstrated professional experience in leading customer service. Excellent communication skills and problem-solving ability are essential to ensuring visitors leave having had a positive and safe visitor experience. You will demonstrate sound judgement and problem-solving skills, in addition a proven ability to take initiative when working with minimal supervision.
