About the Business Unit:
Victim Services, Support and Reform (VSSR) is part of the Police, Racing, Victims and Coordination division of the Department of Justice and Community Safety and is responsible for coordinating a suite of services for victims of crime in Victoria. The Victim Services Support Operations team within VSSR is responsible for the delivery of specific services, including the Victims of Crime Helpline, the Victims Register, as well as managing and overseeing the state-wide Victims Assistance Program (VAP).
The Victims Register provides trauma informed responses and information to eligible victims (or their nominee) about an offender who is serving a sentence in prison. The Victims Register Services Officer is responsible for administrative support to maintain the functions and procedures of the Victims Register, including engaging directly with victims of crime and internal and external stakeholders, and completing detailed case notes and correspondence. The Victims Register Services Officer will use effective engagement strategies to promote the mental health and wellbeing of victims and reduce the trauma they may experience.
About the Role:
The Victims Register Services Officer is part of the Victim Services Support Operations team and reports directly to the Victims Register Operations Manager.
