The Vertebrate Species Management Officer (VSMO) is responsible for the implementation of vertebrate animal management programs, such as dingo predation, within the Vertebrate Species Management Zones (VSMZ) in the Hume & Gippsland Regions.
You will require experience in working with farmers, other community members and stakeholders, and have knowledge of vertebrate pest control management programs, tools and techniques and their application across a range of circumstances. There will be exposure to a range of vertebrate species management activities, however, initial focus will be dingo control using a range of control methods and techniques, including knowledge of the impacts of dingo predation on livestock enterprises and the subsequent effects on rural communities in Victoria. This position also requires the flexibility of working across all vertebrate species management zones across Gippsland/Hume.

This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is Great Alpine Road, Ovens.
