What You'll Do
As the Venue Sales Lead in this newly created role, you'll drive the growth of weddings and premium events across Melbourne Gardens and Cranbourne Gardens. You'll proactively generate and secure bookings across lawns, pavilions, and event spaces, while acting as a brand ambassador at bridal expos and industry events to build a strong pipeline of new and repeat business. You'll cultivate lasting relationships with clients and partners, lead engaging site inspections, and manage the full event lifecycle from enquiry through to post-event follow-up, ensuring a seamless and high-quality client experience. With oversight of the bookings calendar and revenue pipeline, you'll provide accurate forecasting and identify opportunities to optimise utilisation and grow revenue. Working closely with internal teams and external suppliers, you'll ensure events are delivered to the highest standard, while also managing financial processes and contributing to strategic initiatives that enhance yield, product offering, and overall performance.
What You'll Bring
The ideal candidate will bring a qualification in event management or equivalent hands-on experience delivering events within hospitality, venue, or destination settings, along with a strong track record of achieving sales targets and customer service KPIs. You're confident working autonomously, with the ability to manage your time, juggle multiple events, and stay organised in a fast-paced environment. With experience presenting to clients and developing tailored proposals, you combine excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a natural ability to build lasting relationships across diverse stakeholder groups. You have a sharp eye for detail across contracts, documentation, and invoicing, and are comfortable using CRM or event management systems to manage pipelines and processes. Commercially astute and solutions-focused, you're able to think independently, problem-solve effectively, and balance client needs with organisational priorities, all while contributing positively within a collaborative team environment.
