A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced senior professional with an extensive background in researching and identifying trade opportunities, together with a detailed understanding of the global business environment (in particular as it relates to France and Victoria, Australia), to join the Victorian Government Trade & Investment (VGTI) network.
Reporting to the Commissioner for Victoria to Europe, Middle East, Türkiye and Africa, this position requires a proven ability to work across a range of industries, stakeholders, and scale of business to deliver initiatives that will strengthen business links and achieve targeted trade outcomes for the State of Victoria, Australia.
Working in a small and supportive team environment, the position requires proven economic development experience and a strong focus on delivering programs to support exports. Additionally, someone who is proactive, flexible and solutions oriented; confident and diplomatic, and with excellent communication skills, will thrive in this role.
Successful Candidate
The successful candidate will possess:
• An extensive background experience and track record in facilitation of trade into international markets.
• A demonstrated understanding of government and key industry sectors within the European markets.
• A deep understanding of global business environment as it relates to Europe and the major issues which impact on the ability to attract interest from Victorian exporters, and the facilitation of trade from Victoria.
• Fluency in French and English is required (and any other European languages would be an advantage).
The successful candidate for this locally engaged position will be responsible for all arrangements in relation to visa and relocation expenses (if applicable), their accommodation and day-to-day living expenses.
