The role
Reporting to the Manager, Technical Surveillance, the Technical Surveillance Officer supports complex IBAC investigations through the planning, deployment and operation of specialist technical surveillance capabilities. You will apply contemporary technical expertise to develop practical and innovative solutions within a sensitive operational environment. Duties include:

Due to the requirement to attain a Negative Vetting 1 security clearance, candidates must be an Australian citizen at the time of application. Applicants must be based in, or willing to relocate to, Victoria.
Pre-employment testing
This position is classified as a Senior IBAC Officer under the IBAC Act. Senior IBAC Officers must be fit to safely carry and use defensive equipment when performing the functions of an authorised officer and are required to have a reasonable level of fitness and psychological capacity. During the recruitment process, you will be required to undertake and meet minimum requirements in relation to:
Psychometric testing- This is completed online and undertaken across a 1-to-2-hour period comprised of timed and untimed components. Testing covers cognitive ability, personality, work values, and safety behaviours.
Physical and medical capacity- Assessments comprise of baseline evaluations for vision, hearing, mobility and spirometry in accordance with Australian Standards. Candidates will be required to demonstrate at a minimum: ten push ups, ten sit ups, ten body squats, and a three-minute step up cardio exercise.
