About the Business Unit
Located at Castlemaine, Loddon Prison is a 477 bed Medium Security Prison for sentenced male prisoners. Adjacent to Loddon Prison is Middleton, a 236 bed Restricted Minimum-Security Prison for sentenced male prisoners. The focus of both prisons is rehabilitation via individual case management, employment, education, training and the provision of programs and targeted interventions to address offending behaviour and promote the development of prosocial behaviour. Both prisons provide contemporary and quality correctional services that prepare prisoners for transition and reintegration.
About the Role
The role is responsible for the day-to-day management of all electrical infrastructure, building condition and maintenance as part of a multi-disciplinary maintenance team.
An important facet of this role involves liaison with internal staff and external contracted service providers with particular attention to service delivery and outcomes required under the essential service maintenance contract, as well as compliance with OH& S requirements.
The role is also responsible for providing critical information and reporting on the prisons plumbing infrastructures condition and recommending improvement / preventative maintenance.
