About the Business Unit:
The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) delivers a justice and community safety system that works to build a safer, fairer and stronger Victoria.
Technology Solutions and Data Security is delivering the Data and Digital Reform Agenda, which focuses on meeting the department's data and digital needs by providing responsive and sustainable services focused on supporting departmental outcomes.
Technology Solutions and Data Security explores and employs technology to enable the department's business function via the use of modern, appropriate platforms, products and services. It supports enterprise-wide platforms and services including critical applications, networks, telecommunication, call centres, hosting, intranet/internet sites; delivers business and corporate funded project; and oversees the delivering of services provided by technology service providers such as Cenitex.
About the Role:
In the role of the Technical Field Officer, you will act as a technical liaison with key project stakeholders and to provide on-ground project assistance as required.
Some of your duties will include:
- Co-ordinating and delivering support, maintenance and operations of ICT services in collaboration with stakeholders, designers, architects, analysts and testers using agile methodologies at field locations
- Utilising DJCS standards, methods and tools, consistent with DJCS solution and technical architectures, to perform location-based IT incident and request queue management, and user support and training
- Contributing to thought leadership and best practice for ICT location-based customer centric services to deliver continuous improvement, transform the ICT landscape and delivering business value.

About You:
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
- A wealth of knowledge of, and/or, demonstrated experience within a large, complex organisation of installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining end user compute (desktop) computing applications and services, and providing high quality end user support including computers, mobile devices, printers, video conferencing, applications and secure authentication
- Thorough knowledge of, and demonstrated experience within a large ICT environment, of location-based ICT (field) services practice, leading to successful ICT improvement or transformation creating realised business value
- Extrensive knowledge and understanding of location-based ICT (field) services best practices, as well as knowledge of new or emerging technologies and their potential value to the organisation.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- A relevant tertiary or post graduate qualification is highly desirable.
- Valid Victorian Drivers Licence.
- Appropriate vocation qualifications and certifications. Eg - ITIL, Project Management, Agile, Software, Platforms, Cloud, Service management or Change Management are highly desirable.
