The Team Leader, Regulatory Advisory reports to the Manager, Regulatory Advisory, and assists the Manager in providing leadership to, and management of, the Regulatory Advisory Team. This role will involve a number of direct reports. Using risk-based regulatory practices, the position is responsible for assisting the Manager with both the regulatory functions of the Commission and achievement of good investigative practice for reportable conduct scheme investigations. This will involve monitoring of operational reports and trends, guiding and approving work undertaken by other staff as well as performing case management duties on reportable conduct allegations where required in a way that always prioritises child safety.
The Team Leader is responsible for providing authoritative and consistent advice on reportable conduct scheme matters to the Commission's leadership and the Regulatory Advisory team.
At times this position requires engagement with challenging and confronting subject matter including engaging with parents, carers and alleged victims. This role will best suit a candidate who demonstrates leadership, is resilient, has strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail, empathetic, team orientated and able to work in a fast- paced environment.
Please note that the Victorian Government has announced that the Reportable Conduct and Child Safe Standards functions will transfer from the Commission for Children and Young People to the Social Services Regulator. Whilst recruitment to this role will commence at the Commission for Children and Young People, the role will be transferred to the Social Services Regulator in late February 2026.
