As the Team Leader, Recovery and Support Specialist, you will be a key member of the Claims Support team within the CaRS Division. This role is responsible for leading a team of Claims Capability Specialists, Recovery & RTW Specialists, and Technical Specialists who provide technical support, guidance, coaching and development to the Claims and Recovery Support Advisors, Coordinators and Officers.

About the role
The Claims and Recovery Support Division (CaRS) is focused on supporting the recovery and return to work of injured workers. CaRS is transforming how support and services are delivered to injured workers to improve the outcomes they achieve. As part of this, we are helping shape and execute on key strategic priorities for RTW Victoria through pilots, innovation and key strategic programs of work.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement improvement initiatives in collaboration with other team leaders and key internal stakeholders, that support worker outcomes, scheme sustainability, and capability uplift
- Lead the development and execution of strategies to ensure timely and quality reviews of all worker entitlements
- Manage the daily workflow of the Specialist team to ensure Recovery and Support Advisors and Coordinators & Officers receive the appropriate technical specialist coaching support and guidance
- Create and foster a person-centred mindset for the team, where the injured worker is placed at the centre of their recovery and empowered to lead and take ownership
- Drive a team culture that values and utilises a collaborative approach to supporting recovery and return to work, ultimately leading to improved experience and outcomes for injured workers

rformance of team members against KPIs, including identifying opportunities for improvement and mentoring and coaching team members

About you
You will be an experienced team leader, with extensive experience of leading, coaching and mentoring teams. Your strengths will also include your interpersonal and influencing skills across all levels including internal and external stakeholders.
Additionally, you will possess the following skills and experience:
- Previous experience in a personal injury, health, social services, or disability context
- Contemporary attitude to case management which includes understanding and knowledge of long term injury and disability and its impact on individuals
- Conflict resolution skills and the ability to handle challenging situations and to act in a professional and responsive manner
- Working knowledge of Victorian Workers Compensation Legislation and relevant compliance
- Knowledge of WorkSafe and its stakeholder landscape
Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience in case management, rehabilitation, medical and paramedical, disability, social services or other relevant field
