About the Department
The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.
The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Division
The People Strategy and Operations (VPS) Division is responsible for managing HR operations and providing strategic support for both corporate staff and accommodation services. It oversees corporate environments, sustainability initiatives, payroll, recruitment, policy development, workplace relations, and workforce management. Operating under a values-based framework, the division prioritises meeting client needs and improving policies and processes, to deliver on our corporate responsibilities.
It's an exciting time to join the People Services branch, which manages payroll, people operations, talent acquisition and HR services with the goal of attracting and retaining top talent, whilst nurturing a culture of high performance and innovation. The branch is currently implementing a new innovative operating model to introduce more efficient work methods and enhance its service delivery to the business.
About the Role
As a Team Leader in the Payroll Operations team, reporting to the Assistant Manager, you will play a crucial role in working with a small team of Payroll Operations Advisors to manage and deliver the payroll for the corporate workforce. You will focus on fostering a collaborative and customer-centric culture to deliver high-quality HR Payroll services. Your responsibilities will include providing oversight of daily team operations, ensuring consistent adherence to quality standards, managing day-to-day operations, and engaging with stakeholders. This role offers a career development opportunity to lead a new function and team within People Services. The ideal candidate should be proactive, and customer-focused, possess strong problem-solving skills, and have excellent communication skills.
