The Apprenticeship Field Services Unit
The Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority ('the VRQA') is a statutory authority that sits within the Department of Education and Training and is established under the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (ETR Act).
The Apprenticeship Field Services Unit is responsible for monitoring employers' obligations when employing staff under a Training Contract (apprentices and trainees). This includes deploying Authorised Officers into the field to investigate and confirm that employers, apprentices and trainees are meeting their training contract obligations in accordance with the ETR Act.
About the Role
Reporting to the Manager, Compliance and Investigations, the Team Leader role is responsible for leading a team of Authorised Officers to support the VRQA's regulatory field services function and help reduce the harm, and the risk of harm, to Victorian apprentices and trainees. The role oversees the allocation and completion of field investigations to ensure employers, apprentices and trainees are meeting their obligations under the ETR Act, while also providing staff supervision, guidance and performance management to ensure work is completed in line with team processes and required timeframes.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have a strong understanding of investigative processes and methodologies, with demonstrated experience undertaking compliance activities within an investigative framework. You will also have experience training staff in investigative techniques, including interviewing and developing lines of enquiry as well as preparing, reviewing and coaching staff on investigation reports. Demonstrated experience in staff performance management is also required. A Certificate IV in Government Investigations is desirable.
