THE ROLE
This role leads a skilled team assessing and responding to requests for sensitive information made under the new provisions of the Youth Justice Act 2024 (the information sharing provisions commence on 30 September 2026). Working collegiately, the Team Leader will manage the day-to-day operations of the Youth Justice information sharing team including providing authoritative advice and practice support on matters concerning the new provisions. The Team Leader will also input to the department's broader information sharing responsibilities and strategy. The role requires strong people management skills, excellent analytical, writing and reporting skills, and the ability to work flexibly as part of the broader leadership team.
During the initial stage the position will report to the Principal Project Manager and provide operational and administrative support across project implementation activities. From 1 November 2026, the role will report to the Information Sharing Team (IST) Manager.
