The Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Team Leader to provide a critical role within Offender Services, Corella Place and Emu Creek.
About the Business Unit
The Post Sentence Branch, within the Community Operations Offender Services Division of Corrections Victoria, provides central oversight and governance of the post sentence scheme and offenders subject to post sentence orders. The Serious Offenders Act provides the legal framework for a residential treatment facility where a court may order supervised offenders to reside.
Located near the rural city of Ararat in south-west Victoria, Corella Place is a Transitional Accommodation Facility that is staffed 24/7 to enhance the protection of the community by providing accommodation for sex offenders when suitable accommodation elsewhere in the community is not available.
The supervision of Corella Place residents is done in accordance with the Offender Management Framework.
About the Role
The overriding role of the Team Leader is to facilitate operational objectives by leading the Specialist Case Workers (SCWs) and the Activities Coordinator, both independently and in a team context, in a dynamic operational environment. SCWs supervise and monitor the high risk, high profile and high need sex offenders by applying tact, sound judgment and practical problem solving skills and administer the Electronic Monitoring System. The Activities Coordinator facilitates the residents' engagement and participation in a range of recreational, cultural, vocational and educational activities to improve their sense of wellbeing and living skills.
