Welcome to Eppalock Primary School
Nestled in the picturesque rural community of Axe Creek, just 7 kilometres east of Strathfieldsaye, Eppalock Primary School offers an inviting, well-maintained, and spacious environment that reflects the unique charm of country living. Our school is easily accessible via Mannes Lane (off Strathfieldsaye Road), with a turn onto Patons Road leading directly to our gates.
Our school caters to families who value the close-knit, personalised experience a rural school provides. Students are grouped into three small, multi-age classes where they benefit from individual attention, strong peer relationships, and a rich, engaging curriculum. Our dedicated teaching staff and strong parent community work collaboratively to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Eppalock Primary offers a broad and balanced curriculum, including:
We are proud of our school values¿Be Resilient, Be Kind, Be Responsible, Be Respectful¿developed in consultation with our school community in 2019. These values guide our approach to learning and behaviour, underpinned by restorative practices and our ongoing implementation of the School Wide Positive Behaviour System (SWPBS). Our collaboratively designed expectations matrix, created with input from students, families, and staff, ensures consistency across all areas of the school.
Academic achievement is a high priority. Our differentiated teaching approach, including Individual Education Plans, ensures that every student receives tailored support and extension opportunities. Learning is enhanced through a tutoring program and flexible class groupings based on students¿ needs.
Student leadership is actively encouraged. We are proud to have two School Captains, three House Captains and a Performing Arts Captain leading the way, along with representatives from each year level participating in our Junior School Council. These students take initiative in planning and delivering a variety of school and community service activities.
Our classrooms are modern and well-equipped with television screens, netbooks, and iPads to support dynamic, digital learning. Beyond the classroom, students enjoy a wide variety of excursions, incursions, and a well-organised camps program.
Eppalock Primary maintains strong partnerships with local organisations such as Landcare, DSE, Axe Creek Fire Brigade, and the City of Greater Bendigo. Our vibrant school community events, like our much-loved Crazy Bingo Night and Annual Trivia Night, draw both current and past families together in celebration.
With a deep commitment to sustainability, our school is proud to be a 5-star Resource Smart School, participating in water-saving initiatives, National Tree Planting Day, and renewable energy projects. These authentic learning opportunities instil environmental responsibility and community awareness in our students.
At Eppalock Primary School, we are dedicated to nurturing confident, capable, and compassionate learners. We provide a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment where every child is supported to reach their full potential
