We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Education Support staff member to join our team and provide targeted literacy and numeracy intervention for primary-aged students. This role supports the delivery of evidence-based intervention programs and works closely with teachers and the Learning Specialist to improve student learning outcomes.

This position is suited to someone who is organised, patient and passionate about supporting student growth. Experience in literacy or numeracy intervention is desirable, but training will be provided.
The Targeted Intervention Officer will:
Deliver structured, evidence-based literacy and numeracy intervention programs to small groups and individual students, under the direction of the Learning Specialist and classroom teachers.
Use approved assessment tools to help identify students requiring additional support and assist in gathering, recording and analysing student learning data.
Monitor, track and document student progress, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to classroom teachers and members of the leadership team.
Adapt learning materials and instruction to meet the diverse needs, abilities and learning styles of students participating in intervention programs.
Reinforce classroom learning through targeted skill practice and guided instruction that aligns with the school¿s instructional model.
Collaborate closely with teachers to ensure intervention strategies complement classroom teaching and support continuity of learning.
Support student engagement and wellbeing by creating a positive, inclusive and structured learning environment.
Maintain confidential student records in accordance with DET policy and school procedures.
Participate in ongoing professional learning to enhance knowledge of intervention practices, instructional strategies and relevant DET frameworks.
Contribute to a safe and supportive school environment that upholds Child Safe Standards and aligns with all DET and school policies.

Stockdale Road Primary School is located in Traralgon, the largest city in the Latrobe Valley, approximately 160km east of Melbourne. As one of four government schools in Traralgon, we maintain a consistent enrolment of 450-475 students with stable Student Family Occupation (SFO) and Student Family Education (SFOE) indices.
Our school features single cohort classes for Prep to Grade 2 and multi-age classes for Grades 3/4 and 5/6, along with specialist programs in Art, Physical Education, Science, and Paddock to Plate. Every classroom benefits from dedicated Education Support staff, and all students receive weekly Auslan language instruction.
