About the role
The Systems Manager – People & Culture, plays a key leadership role in the centralised management and ongoing integration of core HR digital systems within a large, complex healthcare organisation. This includes oversight of legacy systems (e.g. Pay Global), new implementations including SAP SuccessFactors human resources information system) spanning to four regional Health Services, and the Optima rostering and workforce platform. The role is responsible for evolving this function into a proactive HR systems team, not to just manage the tech, but to actively improve the employee lifecycle. From onboarding and payroll to performance and rostering, the team ensures our systems enable better service delivery, more accurate pay, faster responses, and less manual work across P&C and operations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop the HR Systems team, setting priorities, allocating resources, and ensuring high-quality service delivery across daily operations, system support and issue resolution.
Drive HRIS implementation and optimisation, including transition from legacy platforms to SAP SuccessFactors and Optima, ensuring effective configuration, testing, deployment and system integration.
Champion system-enabled payroll and automation initiatives, aligning solution architecture, integrations and business processes with organisational needs.
Provide strategic leadership in HR digital transformation projects, partnering with IT, project teams and implementation vendors to deliver agreed outcomes, timelines and change strategies.
Manage stakeholder and vendor relationships, acting as the key liaison between People & Culture, IT, payroll and external providers, and ensuring governance and change controls are effectively maintained.
Ensure data integrity, security and compliance, overseeing user access, reporting accuracy, legislative adherence and maintenance of best-practice system documentation
What we’re looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Human Resources, Business or a related discipline.
Minimum five years’ experience managing HRIS platforms, including at least two years in a supervisory or systems leadership role.
Demonstrated expertise in SAP SuccessFactors (Onboarding, Recruitment, Employee Central, Employee Central Payroll, PDR and People Analytics) and PayGlobal.
Strong knowledge of healthcare workforce requirements, rostering systems (e.g. Optima), and complex award and payroll environments.
Proven experience leading or contributing to large-scale HRIS implementations, integrations or system transformations.
Demonstrated capability in leveraging emerging HR technologies, including data analytics, automation and AI-driven tools, to improve workforce planning, employee experience and operational efficiency.
