About the Role
The Systems Engineer, Security Operations is a key member and active participant of the Emergency Communication Information Services (ECIS) team and is a key technical subject matter expert in the Infrastructure team responsible for cyber security operations and monitoring, analysing, and responding to security events and incidents in real time. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the security posture of the organisation by operating and maintaining security platforms and tools, analysing threat intelligence and responding to threats, and ensuring the infrastructure is compliant with security best practice and security policies and standards.
This role works closely with architecture, operations, and security teams to ensure the reliability, performance, availability and security of all critical TZV infrastructure, services and platforms.
This role will work as a hands-on systems engineer with deep technical expertise in Infrastructure and security operations to design, build, maintain and support security platforms and security solutions across on-premise Data Centre infrastructure environments and hybrid-cloud architecture and Cloud environments in Microsoft Azure. You will be part of a talented team of engineers that demonstrate high technical competency, delivering mission critical infrastructure and security operations engineering to ensure the highest levels of availability, performance, and security.
This role requires an experienced Security Operations Engineer with an innovative mindset who is detail-oriented and is an analytical thinker with a deep understanding of cyber threats, security operations, and risk management for designing, deploying, managing, and supporting infrastructure and security solutions and platforms. The role offers an excellent career opportunity for individuals with a background in Microsoft system-focused engineering and cyber security operations experience in delivering collaborative solutions supporting a mission critical 24/7 emergency services environment.
As part of the TZV’s ECIS team you may be required to travel or transfer between your primary work location and other TZV sites to effectively carry out your duties. Normal working hours are 38 hours per week between 7 am and 7 pm, Monday to Friday with a minimum 3 days on site requirement. You will be required to participate in an on-call roster and may be required to work reasonable overtime.
