The SSR is a statutory authority established under the Act. The SSR is committed to strengthening protections and rights of vulnerable Victorians accessing social services. The Act creates the Scheme aimed at keeping Victoria's social service users safe from harms such as abuse and neglect.
The purpose of the Scheme is to:
- support the safe delivery of social services
- establish a new set of Social Service Standards for all service providers
- ensure service providers understand their role in protecting service users' rights
- clarify roles and responsibilities of service providers
- grant the SSR monitoring and enforcement powers to address harm risks
- enhance information sharing between regulators to identify and respond to harm risks
- replace the framework previously managed by the Human Services Regulator.
THE ROLE
The Systems Administrator plays a key role in supporting the Social Services Regulator (SSR) towards data driven decision making and the delivery of robust systems, enabling our strategic direction and operational service delivery priorities.
SSR uses a risk-based intelligence led approach to protect the safety and rights of children, young people and adults experiencing vulnerability.
The Systems Administrator will be responsible for the overall management, maintenance, and security of SSR's core regulatory systems and infrastructure.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is an excellent communicator and always seeks to find the best possible solution
- Proven experience with IDAM and security authentication and management
- Demonstrates experience in supporting and administering business systems
- Proven experience in understanding of configuration and service level management
- Demonstrates the ability to identify and analyse business needs and offers solutions appropriate to individual roles and level of technical understanding
- Troubleshoots and provides service support in diagnosing, resolving and repairing server-related hardware and software malfunctions, encompassing workstations and communication infrastructure
- Prepares and maintains documentation, policies and instructions, and records and details operational procedures and system logs
- Continually survey the current ICT infrastructure to determine future network needs and make recommendations for enhancements in the implementation of future servers and networks
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems, servers, software, and databases
- Supporting DevOps practices, collaborating with developers to improve software lifecycle
- Implementing and managing security protocols, monitoring for threats, and ensuring data protection
- Dealing with a diverse range of requests requiring strategic advice or quality assurance within tight timeframes
- Providing advice and input related to data and systems issues
