About the role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Surveillance Coordinator to lead the delivery of high-quality surveillance and assurance services across the road maintenance network. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing a team of surveillance professionals, ensuring resources are effectively managed, and driving consistent quality, compliance, and operational outcomes.
You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate surveillance programs, manage priorities, and continuously improve assurance processes and systems. Through effective leadership, coaching, and stakeholder engagement, you will foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement while supporting the achievement of organisational objectives.

You are a proven people leader with experience developing high performing teams through coaching, mentoring, performance management, and capability development. You have strong organisational skills and can effectively manage resources, workloads, and competing priorities while maintaining a focus on service delivery and quality outcomes.
Your ability to build productive relationships with stakeholders, analyse information, solve problems, and drive continuous improvement will be key to your success. You are committed to safety, quality, and operational excellence and have experience managing assurance, compliance, or operational processes that support evidence-based decision making and positive network outcomes.

Qualifications and experience
Mandatory
Demonstrated leadership and management of operational teams working in high risk environments.
Deep understanding of road maintenance practices, standards, and relevant legislation (e.g., Road management Act, AGTTM etc.).
Ability to implement and monitor assurance frameworks and systems to ensure contractor compliance.
Proficiency in interpreting inspection data that informs performance and commercial decisions.
Familiarity with contract terms, performance metrics, and service delivery expectations.
Desirable
A relevant certification in civil construction i.e. Certificate III / IV in Civil Construction / Supervision.
