About the role
South West Healthcare (SWH) is seeking a dedicated Surgical Liaison Nurse to join our Planned Surgery Unit. In this key role, you will coordinate and support consumers throughout their elective surgery journey, delivering a seamless, person-centred experience from preadmission through to surgery and post-operative care.
Working collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, theatre teams, unit managers and other multidisciplinary colleagues, you will provide specialist nursing expertise, coordinate care, and help optimise planned surgery outcomes. This role is ideal for a proactive and organised registered nurse who is passionate about improving the consumer experience and delivering high-quality elective surgical care.
What you bring
The successful applicant will hold current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse, with experience in clinical leadership, surgical nursing and a commitment to ongoing professional development. You will have the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, with proven skills in assessing, planning and managing clinical care.
You will bring strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, advanced data management and computer capabilities, and a commitment to delivering person-centred care. You will also demonstrate the ability to contribute to quality improvement initiatives, achieve key performance indicators, and support the delivery of safe, effective and high-quality healthcare outcomes.
