The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking a Supervisor, Security Infrastructure, to play a critical role within Security and Intelligence.
About the Business Unit
The Security and Intelligence Division oversees several key strategic functions within Corrections Victoria (CV), including Security Risk Management, Electronic Monitoring, Correctional Emergency Response, Emergency Management (including exercise planning and contingency management), and Intelligence.
The Security Standards Unit (SSU) performs various strategic functions, including Drone Detection (C/RPAS) programs, Security Risk Assessment and Management, Physical Security processes and procedures, Annual Procedural Security Reviews, Schematic Plans, Barrier Control Equipment, and State-wide Locksmith Services. It also oversees physical security infrastructure standards, electronic security equipment standards, and cell and fire safety policy documents, emerging correctional technology and prison radio networks.
About the Role
The Supervisor, Security Infrastructure, will also be required to obtain a CASA RePL (Remote Pilot Licence) to pilot and operate a CV Drone, either operationally or as part of your role.
The supervisor, Prison Security Infrastructure, will support the Operations Manager's Security requirements by providing specialist advice to CV locations and CV Executives on physical and electronic security infrastructure aligned with CV requirements and standards.
The role requires the ability to work independently and gain a thorough understanding of security practices and principles. Operational custodial knowledge of prison operations, current correctional policies, and procedures is required. The role will assist locations in reviewing and identifying issues related to CV Security infrastructure. A solid, practical understanding of risk management standards and practices is essential. The role requires confidence in dealing with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
