Our Seasonal Rangers play an important role in supporting park management and helping visitors enjoy the outdoors while protecting the natural and cultural values that make our parks special.
We are looking for two Summer Rangers to support the dedicated park area team responsible for Mornington Peninsula National Park during the busy summer period.
As a Summer Ranger, you'll support the Ranger team responsible for Mornington Peninsula National Park during the peak summer period. These full-time seasonal positions are based at the Rosebud Parks Victoria work centre and provide an opportunity to get involved in the day-to-day management of one of Victoria's popular park environments.
You'll undertake a variety of practical, field-based duties while helping visitors safely enjoy the park. Your work will include engaging with visitors, supporting park maintenance activities and contributing to the broader management and protection of the park.
The role is physically demanding and regularly involves manual outdoor fieldwork in varying conditions and, at times, semi-remote locations. You'll need an appropriate level of fitness to safely undertake the inherent requirements of a field-based Ranger position.
The formal position description also identifies conservation, visitor infrastructure and asset maintenance, community engagement and other on-ground park management services as activities Seasonal Rangers may contribute to.
You're practical, motivated and enjoy working outdoors as part of a team. You have a strong work ethic and are comfortable undertaking physically demanding field-based work while maintaining a strong focus on safety and delivering positive experiences for visitors.
You'll be confident engaging with members of the public, able to manage your time and work independently when required, and comfortable carrying out practical maintenance tasks using tools and equipment.
