This is a AH4, 0.4 FTE, fixed-term position in the Hume Merri-bek Area from 1.1.26 until 31.12.26. This position is currently based with the Hume North Student Support Services team.

The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.
The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated Team Leader to manage and lead a multidisciplinary team of allied health professionals in the delivery of Student Support Services across schools in the Hume Merri-bek Area.
Student Support Services help children and young people overcome learning barriers and reach their full potential. Staff collaborate with schools, students and families to improve learning, engagement, wellbeing, and inclusion through targeted strategies and specialised support. They build teacher capability, guide principals on wellbeing and learning approaches, and manage assessments and interventions for complex cases. Working in multidisciplinary Area-based teams — including psychologists, speech pathologists, and social workers — they support individuals, groups and school communities.

Expert advice: You will be required to provide collaborative advice that will influence the development of teaching and learning strategies and student wellbeing programs for school leadership teams to embed in their practices.
Leadership: You will be required to provide leadership to the SSS team by managing service delivery within a multidisciplinary Area-based team and contributing to professional supervision and direction to other members of the team.
Communication: You will have highly developed communication, networking and interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with a range of people in the education community and beyond.
Flexibility: You will have the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and the capability to work autonomously when required.
Collaborative approach: You will have the ability to work collaboratively with other allied health professionals within a multidisciplinary team, and to work with schools to identify, develop and coordinate strategies aimed at quality universal services for all students and support schools in addressing issues early.

Job Location: This position is based in the Hume Merri-bek Area. There is a requirement to travel and undertake work in schools as part of service delivery. SSS staff have access to departmental fleet vehicles.
