The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration. The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
About the Division
Schools and Regional Services (SRS) offers central, regional, and local expertise to enhance learning and development outcomes, supported by a diverse and geographically dispersed workforce. It comprises 17 areas within 4 regions, backed by 5 central office divisions, all collaborating to deliver improved outcomes for early childhood services, schools, communities, and learners, in line with Education State commitments. SRS regions serve as a bridge between the central office, schools, and service providers, ensuring smooth transitions for learners and achieving the department's ambitious targets. Each region includes divisions specialising in school perform......ance, student wellbeing and early childhood support, working with area-based teams to tailor local interventions and practices. The 17 areas provide crucial insights into local trends and issues, facilitating effective policy and program development and driving child and learner outcomes across all services and programs.
This role is located in the Student Support Services (SSS) Branch, NEMA, North Western Victoria Region, SRS. The Student Support Services Branch is an Area based multi-disciplinary health, wellbeing, and inclusion team which comprises psychologists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, BCBA and social workers.
About the Role
The Student Support Services Branch is an Area based multi-disciplinary health, wellbeing, and inclusion team. If you are passionate about child and adolescent development, trauma informed practices, complex presentations and consulting with educational staff around behavioural and environmental adjustments to support learning engagement, and like working in a collaborative multidisciplinary team - then a role in the SSS is the job for you.

You'll work with a diverse group of people who share a common goal, and you will be well supported to use your professional skills and knowledge to provide specialised support at the individual, group, school, and area level.
The successful applicant will be a valuable member of a multidisciplinary team responsible for providing a flexible service across 4 priorities areas of critical incidents, acute issues/complex cases, prevention/capability building and short to medium term intervention. This work will involve a range of assessments and interventions as well as providing significant collaborative networking opportunities with local service providers.
Required:
Psychologist: A graduate or post-graduate degree in Psychology, a full registration as a psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA).
Social Work: A graduate or post-graduate degree in social work, Eligibility for membership of the Australia Association of Socia l Workers.
