Brunswick Secondary College is a co-educational Year 7-12 College. While its students are drawn from Brunswick , an overall enrolment of 1050 allows for some enrolment of students from outside this area. Modernisation of school facilities, completed in late 2018, allows for growth in enrolments over the next few years. The College has an International Student Program
The college offers a traditional discipline-based curriculum; complemented by a wide range of specialist subjects and enrichment programs. Its goal is to improve the achievement levels of individual students and specific cohorts through continuing to raise expectations and standards of learning. To ensure that all students have access to the same high standards of teaching, staff develop curriculum and assessment tasks in teams. A wide range of quality professional learning opportunities are offered on site and all teachers are involved in classroom observations connected to Performance Review.

The purpose of this role is to engage with young people and structures to address life challenges and enhance student wellbeing and engagement, leading to improved student outcomes. The Wellbeing Support Officer works with individuals, teachers, families, groups and communities and is responsible and accountable for the delivery of professional support services that support emotional growth and self-development, including the management of complex cases. The guiding principles are to triage and short-term problem solve or refer, with a goal for redundancy for reactive interventions.

Applicants must:
hold a Bachelor qualification or specialist/post graduate qualification where applicable in one of the following:
Social Work
Occupational Therapy
Nursing with a mental health specialisation
Psychology
Masters of Counselling
Or have substantial experience in community health and/or mental health settings.
Applicants must
have a current Working With Children Check.
Desirable
For Social Work applicants, hold membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers and an Accredited Social Worker Trade Mark.
For Mental Health Nurse applicants, hold a Mental Health Nurse Credential and membership with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses
For Occupational Therapist applicants, hold a Better Access to Mental Health endorsement.
For Psychology applicants, specialisation in education and/or developmental psychology.
