About the Group
Housing, Building and Land Delivery drives balanced urban growth by delivering zoned land for housing, jobs and infrastructure in State-led areas, a pipeline of government-owned land for development, and an improved building system.
About the Role
The role is to lead and manage the preparation of structure plans and other associated strategic planning as blueprints for the development of new communities and employment areas.
You will be part of a small team of professionals supporting contractors in coordinating a whole of government approach to planning, including transport, community services, open space and other essential infrastructure.
You will be responsible for consulting with a range of stakeholders to achieve agreed outcomes around specific planning issues as well as the to implement government policy by delivering housing choice and jobs to meet population growth and create 20-minute neighbourhoods close to existing services and public transport, preparation of sound planning advice, analysis and assessment of planning proposals.
· Lead and manage the preparation of framework plans and structure plans in Metropolitan Melbourne.
· Project manage extensive consultation exercises with Government agencies, Councils, developers and other key stakeholders and undertake discussions and negotiations to resolve issues.
· Project manage multi-disciplinary project teams on the preparation of structure plans in accordance with legislation, policy and procedures.
· Undertake complex technical investigations and make recommendations for action.
· Interpret policy as it relates to the work of the Metropolitan Melbourne team.
· Direct and review the preparation of quality drawings and plans, both of a conceptual and technical nature, including layout design analysis and graphic representation of landscape, structure, infrastructure, built and natural features.
· Present highly complex concepts, ideas and issues in respect of planning to senior leadership.
· Provide line management responsibility and project management advice to staff within the team.
