This is a fixed term position until 30 June 2027.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Planner to join the Housing, Building and Land Delivery (HBLD) Group.
The role involves contributing to the development and review of strategic plans and various planning documents, including Precinct Structure Plans (PSPs), Structure Plans, Activity Centre Plans, and Development Plans, for both established and greenfield areas across metropolitan Melbourne. Additionally, you will support implementation and improvement projects aligned with the VPA's business objectives.
You will work within a small team of professionals and supporting contractors to coordinate a whole-of-government approach to planning. This includes collaboration across sectors such as transport, community services, open space, and other key infrastructure.
Your responsibilities will include assisting with the preparation and review of strategic plans and amendment documents, managing contractors, and providing background support for projects. You will also contribute to initiatives aimed at streamlining plan delivery and enhancing strategic planning outcomes by applying the PSP Guidelines: New Communities in Victoria (2021). Furthermore, you will respond to requests, prepare documentation, consult with, and advise various stakeholders and team members, as well as organize and participate in meetings.
