About the role
Reporting to the Statewide Manager, Renting Taskforce, the role of the Statewide Regional Officer (VPS 3) is predominantly responsible for a range of straightforward compliance monitoring activities and inspections for the newly formed Rental Taskforce. The position will be part of a multi-disciplinary renting taskforce team and will work closely with the Renting Taskforce Lead and other team members.
Embedded within Consumer Affairs Victoria (CAV), the Renting Taskforce will tackle poor renting conduct and increase renter confidence, focusing on rental offences committed by rental providers and estate agents who do not comply with Victoria's rental laws.
The position will sit within the Performance and Outcomes Branch and will be required to carry out compliance monitoring activities and inspections of businesses using checklists, as well as residential tenancy assessments and inspections. These inspections will typically include acting as support in a team conducting compliance inspections of licensed businesses, including estate agencies, rental properties and similar type inspections that are likely to lead to court action or formal sanctions.
