The Statewide Drought Coordinator performs a critical role in supporting the Victorian Government drought response. The position will coordinate and lead effective engagement with key stakeholders and delivery of drought response initiatives across the state. Working closely with the Agriculture Victoria South West Regional Drought Coordinator and Agriculture Victoria Regional Leaders, agriculture industry and community stakeholders, the position will perform a highly visible, public-facing role - working with stakeholders to ensure awareness and effective and timely implementation of drought support measures and services to those in need.
The Statewide Drought Coordinator will develop strong relationships with regional networks, working with these networks to develop a shared understanding of the support measures available and investigate opportunities to amplify the support available. The position will also look for opportunities to improve service delivery and flag issues to key organisations in a timely manner. Extensive travel across Victoria is anticipated as a part of this role.

They will create excellent working relationships with an extensive network of stakeholders and be able to influence and negotiate with others to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes. The successful applicant will have strong leadership skills and be an excellent communicator who can listen and understand concerns, identify emerging issues, and convey information with clarity, sincerity and empathy. This is a fixed term position available for a period until 30 June 2026. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
