The Opportunity
Reporting to the Director, Engagement, the Stakeholder Engagement Specialist- Industry is responsible for managing and coordinating VicGrid's interactions with energy industry stakeholders including renewable energy developers, their representative bodies, transmission network service providers, and regulators. This position plays a key role in facilitating two-way engagement between industry and VicGrid on the development of reforms including renewable energy zones and the new Victorian Access Regime.
Our ideal candidate will be proactive in their approach to supporting internal teams and enhancing VicGrid's reputation with stakeholders by developing and implementing best-practice engagement and communications strategies.
What you will deliver
• You will build and foster constructive relationships with renewable energy developers, transmission network service providers, peak bodies including the Clean Energy Council and the Clean Energy Investor Group, and energy industry regulators, to support information exchange and collaboration in achieving VicGrid's objectives
• You will work closely with VicGrid teams including Strategy and Planning, Project Delivery, and Access and Connections to enable timely two-way engagement with industry on VicGrid policies, plans and reform initiatives
• You will create content that helps the Communications and Engagement and broader VicGrid teams to clearly articulate and communicate organisational objectives and agenda, and to garner industry understanding and support
• You will provide professional leadership and expert advice across all parts of VicGrid to ensure a consistent and coordinated approach to stakeholder engagement, integrating messaging and data-gathering with work to engage the community, landholders and Traditional Owners
What you will bring
• A demonstrated stakeholder management capabilities and experience in the energy sector; a record of engaging with industry will be highly regarded.
• A contemporary and detailed understanding of the challenges and opportunities provided by the state's transition to renewable energy.
• Strong experience in stakeholder engagement and management through complex policy reform, demonstrating well developed interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and capacity to think and plan strategically while also delivering high-quality tactical materials.
