About the Speech Pathology Department
The Speech Pathology Department is committed to promoting the highest levels of care for our patients. In realising this goal, the department will lead and excel in research, teaching and the use of person-centred evidence-based practice. The department provides services on all three campuses of Austin Health.
We have over 40 speech pathologists working across all three sites of Austin Health, in acute care, sub-acute care, rehabilitation and community programs. We function as one department and work in clinical teams in a supportive, friendly environment. Our work includes clinical services, research, quality and improvement, staff and student education.
About the role
This position is initially based on the Austin site and will work as part of Acute stream under the guidance of the Grade 4 Acute stream leader. It rotates annually into work areas including ENT, spinal, ICU and outpatients. We will train the successful applicant in the skills required for the role, including tracheostomy, laryngectomy and FEES.
