About the Role:
An exciting opportunity is available for a highly skilled and motivated Grade 3 Speech Pathologist to join our team. This is a 0.7 FTE role working primarily within and ambulatory care model based in the Hospital in the Home service (Wallaby Ward). You will work within a supportive multidisciplinary team to manage infants, children, and adolescents at home with feeding, swallowing, and communication disorders. You will be part of the broader RCH speech pathology team at the RCH and have regular and close contact speech pathology colleagues and the speech pathology manager. Part of this role includes teaching, supervision, service improvement and development. Although this role is primarly based in the Hospital in the Home Service, caseload flexibility and cover is required by all staff in the speech pathology team according to service demands.
Internally, this position will be referred to and known as: Speech Pathologist Grade 3.
Classification for this position will range from VW6-VW9 Grade 3 Year 1 to Grade 3 Year 4 (FTE base salary per annum $104,135- $118,981, pro rata for part-time, plus superannuation). There is an additional allowance for relevant post-graduate degrees (i.e., completed in addition to your speech pathology degree) and five weeks' paid annual leave.

About the Speech Pathology Department:
We provide services to both inpatient and outpatient paediatric populations in the areas of eating, drinking and swallowing, speech, language, voice, cleft palate, and tracheostomy. We cover all inpatient wards with our highest inpatient referrals coming from Neonatology, Cardiac Services, General Medicine, Neurology, Neuroncology, Respiratory, and ENT. We also do a large amount of tertiary-related outpatient assessment and consultation with in multidisciplinary and speech path/allied health led clinics. The role is busy but varied and sits within a supportive and experienced team of speech pathologists.
About the Hospital in the Home Service (Wallaby Ward):
The Hospital in the Home (Wallaby Ward) service provides multidisciplinary care for children able to complete their admission at home. This includes assessment and management of feeding, swallowing, and communication difficulties across a range of clinical areas such as respiratory, oncology, complex care, and post-surgical rehabilitation.
