We have a flexible work arrangement typically at work days are Tuesdays and Wednesdays at CBD Office and a third day at a regional office of your choice.
About the role:
You will be a senior member of a team responsible for developing and implementing EPA’s Enterprise Architecture as well as maintaining and enhancing the Enabling Technology Platforms. You will develop and oversee the delivery of expert solution architecture and design, aligned to EPA’s strategic priorities, to prevent harm to Victorian communities and the environment from pollution and waste. This is a senior role for an experienced Solution Architect that wants to contribute to the success of the EPA as it enters a new era of environmental protection in Victoria. Working closely with the Manager, Architecture and Technical Services, you will actively contribute to a positive organisational culture and achieve the highest standards of performance and integrity, fostering genuine partnerships across all levels of government, industry, and community to support the delivery organisational outcomes.
In this role you will:
Partner staff across the EPA to understand business processes and requirements; identify opportunities for the Information Technology Branch to provide guidance on appropriate IT solutions.
Support staff across the EPA in the evaluation of commercial-off-the-shelf products to ensure they align to the organisation’s Enterprise Architecture and security standards, integrate where possible, and provide a seamless experience for end-users; support procurement for, or that include, technology solutions to ensure integration with EPA’s Enterprise Architecture; support staff to productionise unit developed point solutions and ensure compliance with standards, governance, and plan support models.
Work with technology platform owners to ensure compliance of cross platform solutions with Enterprise Architecture standards and policies; provide input into regular reviews of technology platforms and promote enhancements that will reduce technical debt.
Be the custodian of reference, solution, and data architecture designs in the Enterprise Architecture repository (Orbus); support release management by reviewing compliance checklists and ensuring documentation is updated; support platform owners to ensure best practice documentation and solution architecture is maintained by vendors .
Skills and experience:
Demonstrated experience in designing solutions to meet business requirements.
Demonstrated experience in setting standards for patterns and enterprise architecture.
Experience documenting and managing solution architectures in Orbus (or similar platforms) is highly desirable.
Demonstrated Solution Architecture experience for IaaS, PaaS and SaaS.
Demonstrated Solution Architecture experience across the Microsoft product range essential, especially Azure.
