The Victorian Government Solicitor's Office (VGSO) serves the rule of law exclusively for the State.

About the branch
The Inquiries, Prosecutions and Administrative Law (IPA) branch of the VGSO is comprised of approximately 40 lawyers, paralegals, project managers and support staff.
The branch provides specialist legal services and advice to the State in relation to matters such as:
The branch is led by an Assistant Victorian Government Solicitor, with support from two Lead Counsels and five Managing Principal Solicitors.

About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Solicitor to join the IPA Branch. You will play a pivotal role in supporting and managing complex and sensitive litigation across a diverse range of cases, with a particular focus on state care and personal injury claims.
You will provide high-level, practical legal advice across a broad range of issues, both in litigation and advisory contexts, supported by thorough legal research and analysis.
