About the Branch
The Legal Services Branch sits within the VECRA Corporate Division. The Legal Services Branch is a dynamic in-house legal team which provides authoritative, practical and strategic legal advice on regulatory, governance and other operational matters. The role supports legally robust, risk-based and timely decision-making across VECRA's compliance, investigation and enforcement functions, with a strong focus on child safety, procedural fairness, statutory powers, administrative law and public sector obligations.
The Branch also manages VECRA's litigation program, including claims, external reviews matters and prosecutions.
About the Role
VECRA is seeking a collaborative and enthusiastic Solicitor to join the Legal Services Branch. This role will report to VECRA's Deputy General Counsel and will form part of VECRA's in-house legal team of six solicitors, along with the General Counsel and 3 Senior Solicitors.

Attributes
A Solicitor in Legal Services Branch will possess a proven ability to work in an in-house government legal team and will have experience in regulatory and public law including in relation to compliance and enforcement action, as well as statutory interpretation, privacy law, employment law and negligence.
