Aurora School is a Department of Education specialist school providing bilingual early intervention and early education for deaf and deafblind children across Victoria. Our main campus is located in Blackburn South, with an additional office in Sunshine.
We are seeking a qualified Social Worker to join our Early Intervention program, a statewide service supporting deaf children aged 0¿6 years and their families. Aurora delivers regular home-based support through multidisciplinary teams that include teachers of the deaf, educational psychologists, social workers, speech and language therapists, and Deaf and Hard of Hearing role models.
Under the direction of the Manager, Early Intervention, the Social Worker will provide high-quality social work services to families, contribute to statewide early intervention delivery, and offer consultancy support to other service providers.
This role involves travel across Victoria. Applicants must hold a current Victorian driver¿s licence and be willing to use their own comprehensively insured vehicle. Travel expenses and ATO mileage rates are provided, and occasional overnight travel may be required. Salary is based on qualifications and experience.
The position is primarily based at the Blackburn campus, with some work at the Sunshine campus as required. Knowledge of deafness, Deaf culture, and the impact of hearing loss on communication and language development is highly valued.
