About the Role
The Western Melbourne Area, Department of Education is looking for a Social Worker to contribute to the important work of our Student Support Services (SSS) team in Hobsons Bay in supporting schools to address the barriers to learning that impact on student(s) progress to achieving their educational goals and development potential.
Working with our SSS team you will have access to:
• Structured induction and a range of regular professional development opportunities, e.g. Peer and 1:1 supervision/coaching - both discipline specific and team based peers
• Mentors to help build a professional career
• Implementation of a range of innovative practice opportunities that help to meet all, some and individualised student need, e.g. Combination of consultation and direct work with students and teachers
• Working with teachers and school leaders to influence (system) change
• Access to up to date resources and technology
This is a full time fixed term role with flexibale work arrangements. It is a parental leave position until 5 February 2027.
